The Performing Arts Medicine advocacy expands beyond Metro Manila through Dr. Jennifer Marie Yang’s visit to Cebu, supported by the Balik Scientist Program. One of the key objectives of the visit was to explore the establishment of a multidisciplinary Performing Arts Medicine clinic in Cebu, inspired by the model at the UP College of Music and envisioned to include physiatrists and allied health professionals.

The weekend began with a visit to Guang Ming College with Dr. Elda Anota, Dr. Alfred Angulo, and medical student and ballerina Anika Margarita Ramiro; followed by a seminar at Cebu Doctors’ University College of Rehabilitative Sciences, with Dean Dr. Renald Peter Ramiro, Physical Therapy Program Chair Ms. Sharah Wang, and RTp Internship Coordinator Dr. Julie Yap, alongside Dr. Angulo and Anika; and ended with a visit to Balletcenter Cebu at Ayala Center Cebu, where they met choreographer Mr. Clinton Rey Dignos and observed dance classes involving young teenage students and more advanced dancers.

PAMANA PH extends its heartfelt thanks to our Cebu colleagues for their warm hospitality and support. We look forward to strengthening partnerships between healthcare professionals, rehabilitation specialists, and the performing arts community as we work toward making evidence-informed Performing Arts Medicine more accessible to artists throughout the Philippines.
