Bringing Science into the Dance Studio: PAMANA PH x Artists en Pointe
Updated: 4 hours ago
PAMANA PH partnered with Artists en Pointe (AEP) Dance Studio in Alabang, Muntinlupa, for a series of AEP Talks exploring the intersection of dance, medicine, and science. The series featured three topics: Dancing Through the Years, with physiatrist Dr. Jennifer Yang, on the benefits and adaptations of dance for active older adults; Rhythm and Resilience, with psychiatrist and dancer Dr. Lielanie Mae Aguilar-Pascasio, on mental health and emotional wellness among teenage dancers; and Science of Dance, with physiatrist and dancer Dr. Maria Lourdes Corazon Fernandez-Tapang, on motor learning that shape dance.
These talks highlighted the value of connecting medical expertise with lived experience in the ballet studio. By bringing together perspectives on healthy aging, psychological resilience, and movement science, the series reinforced the importance of a holistic approach to dancer health and well-being throughout the lifespan.
PAMANA PH extends its heartfelt thanks to Artists en Pointe for its continued support of Performing Arts Medicine in the Philippines. Through collaborations like this, we hope to strengthen the connection between healthcare professionals and the performing arts community, helping dancers thrive both in and beyond the studio.
